"Birdy's Battle Report : Week Three"

“The great thing about Birdy’s Battle Royale is the platform it provides for brand new bands to perform in front of an audience, in a venue built to showcase professionals. Of course that also creates a real wild-card situation when one of those new bands brings tons of fans, on a night when every band put on A-level performances. That was this week in a nutshell. Rockville’s Against The Clocks made the 60 mile drive to play last, earning the first-place designation with a heavy dose of synth-pop. Their on-stage setup featured six keyboards played by the band’s two lead vocalists, creating a sound akin to if Journey and the Allman Brothers teamed up to record an album produced by Ryan Tedder.”

"Trndy Indy"

“Rockville is also home to Indiana’s emerging classic rock band, Against the Clocks (ATC). The five-piece rock band garnered national attention for their smooth classic sound and teaming up with Tinderbox, SESAC, and radio stations across the country. And with the band’s upcoming show at the Indiana State Fair, they hope to redefine the rock in ROCKville. The band released their third EP, 47872, in March of 2015. The title of the EP actually is Rockville’s zip code, paying tribute to their hometown. 47872 is a strong effort that delivers an extremely polished and classic rock sound. The track, “Not With You,” Lake’s vocals glide effortlessly over the mellow and seamless instrumentals while the vocal harmony of the band gives it a slow jam vibe. Another stand out track from the effort is, “Love’s Like,” which takes on a stronger rock and roll influence with the guitar riffs and solos during and after the chorus. All the tracks consist of an infectious melody.”

"Against the Clocks"

“From the moment you hit the first track, “Not With You”, you know this is going to be a unique selection of songs sure to excite many and send shivers down numerous spines. There’s just something about Logan Lake’s husky, smoky voice that will melt hearts. It’s difficult to exactly pin-point their sound, which is often the trademark of really good bands, even though a lot of influences do come to mind. Regardless of whether the sound of any song is upbeat or slow, guitar or piano-driven, there’s always an energy bubbling under that really hooks the ear. There was not a point on this Ep where it even crossed my mind to skip ahead to the next track. Undeniably “47872” is on my best indie-rock album of the year shortlist. From beginning to end, this Ep captivated me;superb vocals, brilliant instrumentation, strong melodies, and heartfelt lyrics to back it all up. On each subsequent listen, Against the Clocks just seemed to get better and better!”

"Against the Clocks"

“Great music can come from the hotspots of NYC, Los Angeles, and Nashville but there are plenty of other towns that can pump out some memorable sounds. It seems like some of these small towns were destined for this. Let us introduce you to Against The Clocks. Against The Clocks churns out a mesmerizing style that brings back the rock genres of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s with their own warm touch. The boys are getting noticed have been getting out there on short tours and have a summer full of festival appearances lined up to get their music in front of new fans. Recently Against The Clocks released their third EP called 47872. That is actually the zipcode of their hometown ROCKville, Indiana. The opening track “Not With You” sets the tone with its soft yet earnest lyrical harmonies and smooth guitar melding well with the simple drumbeat. These guys will be breaking way beyond the walls of Rockville very soon. Get a head start at: http://www.againsttheclocks.com/”

"Against the Clocks"

Beginning in 2012, Indie rockers Against the Clocks hit the scene big time emerging from the small town of none other than ROCKville, Indiana. I’d say that’s fitting, wouldn’t you? That’s why they named their brand new four track EP 47872 after their hometown zip code. With most recent addition Jordan Lake, lead guitarist and front man Logan Lake’s brother, Against the Clocks have developed a tighter, more polished sound necessary for the number of festivals booked this summer.Against the Clocks is collaborating with Minnesota’s Tinderbox Music for a big 250 Radio Airplay push release in June, and they don't plan on slowing down anytime in the near future.Their profound melodies and slight twang show obvious influences from classic rock. In other words, make sure you bring a lighter (or cell phone) to their live shows. All Against the Clocks music, including 47872, are available on Muzooka.com, Spotify, iTunes, and Bandcamp. Check out ATC at www.againsttheclocks.com.”
