Against Atlas

Against Atlas is a progressive rock band based in Boston, Massachusetts. Formed at Berklee College of Music, the members of Against Atlas pull from many different musical backgrounds and tastes spanning from Björk to The Dear Hunter to Tool to Protest The Hero to BTBAM. The result is a versatile band that commits to the energy and intensity of a heavy rock or metal band while always maintaining a harmonic and melodic integrity.

Original songs written by Against Atlas are very often co-written by all members of the band. One member will bring a musical idea to rehearsal and the other members will write their respective parts. This process, by letting each of our separate influences inspire a part of each song we write, helps to achieve the sound that we and fans have come to call our own. The arrangement of each song, however, is typically dictated by the lyrics and overarching melody. This helps each song become more accessible and memorable to listeners.
