More About Against the Grain
In addition to being bass guitarist, Paul Ambrose has a tremendous testimony that he often shares with young audiences. Over 8 years ago Paul was saved and delivered from drug addiction. Paul is now a Licensed Minister and serves as a Youth Pastor. Many people, especially teenagers, have been touched by this young mans story.
The vast majority of songs that the Band performs are written by the groups lead singer, John Buxton. John made his recording debut at age 13 when he sang on one of his dads recordings. The songs this guy has written will amaze you.
Randy (the self-proclaimed Old Guy of the Band) is Johns dad. He has been involved in Gospel Music as a singer and songwriter for many years. He has had songs in the Nations Top 40 Charts.
Michael Henry is a long time friend and helps complete the Bands sound with his guitar and great personality. Michael brings a lot of style to the group.
Dave Stone will absolutely blow you away with his own style of Lead Guitar playing and the excitement in which he plays. Dave also has a wonderful testimony of where Christ has brought him from.
The Bands sound is built around the solid rhythm of drummer and percussionist Jesse Tapley. When not on the road, Jesse plays the drums at his church.
