DeRado reformed the band A Girl Named Noah in the fall of 2002. The bands lead vocalist, Dari Mahnic, immediately drew notice and attention with her remarkable voice and charismatic stage presence. In 2003, the band was voted Best New Band, by the readers of Tampa Bay-based news magazine The Weekly Planet appearing in their Best of the Bay issue.
