Shake It Off

Written By: A Golden Era

Tell me, where do you get off? Bossing me around like I’m not capable to do it myself. Oh, I’m capable to do it myself. Do you know that you’re standing in the presence of a legend pending? You tripped and fell, get up and shake it off. I know how you feel, get up and shake it off. So is this how you end up? Losing everything that you love. Well I know that you are bigger than that. Oh, you know that you are bigger than that. Do you know that you’re standing in the presence of a legend pending? You tripped and fell, get up and shake it off. I know how you feel, get up and shake it off.

Long Way Home

Written By: A Golden Era

Turn it up now, you know there's no one else listening to us. It's just you and me in the car. You can sing as loud as you want, and I'll be content just humming along. Open up the window, and take a breath of fresh air. Is it ok if we take the long way home tonight? We'll just drive, we'll see the streetlight's immaculate shine, and I won't sleep at all. I don't think that I'll be forgetting you. Don't look back now, we've come too far to let the past sink back in. Now where should we begin? There's no time for awkward silence. Three blocks doesn't leave much room for meaningless... words don't mean much now. We'll figure it out somehow. Is it ok if we take the long way home tonight? We'll just drive, we'll see the streetlight's immaculate shine, and I won't sleep at all. I don't think that I'll be forgetting you. Waiting for the rain to tap on my door, the smell that's so familiar. We'll take the long way home tonight? We'll just drive, we'll see the streetlight's immaculate shine, and I won't sleep at all. I don't think that I'll be forgetting you.

Life: As Played By People

Written By: A Golden Era

The scent of dew in the morning, caught up by this cold country air. The sunrise coming from the tree top casting a shadow over this small town. In due time, you know I’ll have to go. I wanted a place I could call my home tonight but I guess you know it’s over you know that I can’t. Streets lit up like they’re on fire. Buildings tear open the sky. The people acting out the scenes they’ve written in hopes to find an ending for this. In due time, you know I’ll have to go. I wanted a place I could call my home tonight but I guess you know it’s over you know that I can’t. I feel at home tonight. I wanted a place I could call my home tonight but I guess you know it’s over you know that I can’t.

Thread The Needle

You should have known where this would go (stop and start). You’ll pay for this with broken wrists (break my fall). As is stands I’m ready to go. I’m ready, I am. Sorry dear we’re falling apart and it seems we couldn’t change it, no, we couldn’t change anything. You said you could not relate, you said that you’d save face, you couldn’t change it, no, you couldn’t change anything. I hate to think that there’s nothing (we can do) to save ourselves from what we felt (on that night). As is stands I’m ready to go. I’m ready, I ready. As is stands I’m ready to go. I’m ready, I am. Sorry dear we’re falling apart and it seems we couldn’t change it, no, we couldn’t change anything. You said you could not relate, you said that you’d save face, you couldn’t change it, no, you couldn’t change anything.
