Biography

Agua Dulce is the sweetwater that vibrates within each of our bodies when we feel the strike of the drum, the heartbeat. It's beautiful music that flowes free like a waterfall pouring into the audience. A firey melting pot of different styles and rhythms taking listeners on a musical journey through Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Brazil.

This group from Southern California have followed their dreams by dedicating themselves to the study and performance of world music. Since coming together as a band in the summer of 1997. The six members are suceeding in accomplishing their goals. The Hernandez brothers, Tizoc on bass, Joaquin on drumset, are the backbone of the band. Added is the Berklee College of Music graduate Claudia Booth on keyboard. The brazilian influence comes through the vocals and guitar of Israel Maldonado. The multi-instrumentalists of the group is Dante Loaiza playing quartro, trumpet and vocals. Last but not least is Paul Lopez playing afro-cuban and brazilian percussion.
