"Since four of the songs in this completed version of Rollin' With The Ahab Rex Quintet CD were covered a year ago in this space, the same kudos stand for the group's state-of-the-art gnarly, growly bass, agit prop music. The additional six songs further round out the band's impressive reach to break out of the mold, continuing to unexpectedly jump across genres while bridging unexpected tempo changes. The standout is "dope sick," a wonderful jazz/lounge paean whose execution would make Tom Waits envious. But everything about this now fully fleshed out CD points to the fact that Ahab Rex is a band to be reckoned with and worthy of greater attention."
