Ahmad Rashad and Saddi Sundiata

Ahmad Rashad and Saddi Sundiata are twin brothers from Mississippi that come together to form a hip-hop duo unlike any that has been seen since the emergence of the legendary groups of hip-hop’s past. They combine very distinct and unique styles that compliment each other perfectly to deliver a unique experience. Ahmad and Saddi speak soulful truths, which has been tempered through their Mississippi roots, with the wordplay and dexterity that propelled rap music to the forefront of the entertainment industry.

The two draw their musical influences from the great groups of the past, such as UGK, 8-Ball & MJG, Outkast, Run DMC, Mobb Deep, and the list goes on, to learn how to balance each other lyrically while remaining totally visible as individual artists.

While most would view the “twin” angle as a gimmick, these two look at it as an opportunity to prove two points: 1) There is room for the modern hip-hop duo in todays era of music and 2) that they both can stand on their own as individual artists. This is one of the reasons they mainly go by their individual names: Ahmad Rashad and Saddi Sundiata. They recently completed their EP, “Kids of the Night,” a six song tape that outs people in the mind of young adults with nothing to lose but life. The follow up LP of the same name will build on the foundation that the short player offered and will be released during winter 2012.
