After dabbling in the music scene for more than 10 years, ‘Aiba abounds as a versatile singer-songwriter, musician and artist.  Impassioned by her Papuan and Anglo-Australian heritage her original compositions and songs in her mother’s traditional language hold an earthy and uniquely beautiful contemporary folk, blues & roots feel. Drawing her inspiration from her life experiences, ‘Aiba shares her spirit wholeheartedly. Her music will captivate and soothe your soul.

An independent artist based in Ballina, Northern Rivers NSW Australia, ‘Aiba recorded her first self-titled EP in 2005, available online.

‘Aiba’s sound meets the likes of Joan Baez, Ani De Franco, Nora Jones and Dido. An accomplished musician, ‘Aiba took herself from classically trained violinist to self-taught guitarist. Raised in a musical family, her vocal style blends a lifetime of varied influences including classical, folk, rock, RnB, Soul and Reggae, alongside traditional and contemporary music from Papua New Guinea and Polynesia.

Aiba’s beginnings as a singer-songwriter were serenading people at markets around Brisbane and Cairns, and busking while travelling overseas. She has since captivated audiences at numerous cafés, restaurants, bars and festivals. Appearances include the Brisbane Festival, Island Vibe Festival, Woodford Folk Festival’s Women Up Front Chalk Board, the Cairns Writer’s Festival, Greening Australia’s 25th Anniversary Festival, and the Alice Springs Desert Festival.
