Meeting the Aida duo is such an unusual experience. Stefano’s volcanic creative eagerness creates a perfect mix with Giorgia’s smiley and shiny innocence, giving birth to a wave of contagious positive energy. From the very first exchange of ideas you realize how alternative their philosophy of life is. They have an original and extremely personal conception of love, time, money… and art, totally conflicting with common belief. Their devotion, discipline and persistence are almost impossible to agree with, but the Eden reflected in their union proves just the opposite. Giorgia, soprano, uses her innermost instrument, her voice, as ink for a collective writing in which there are no main characters, but simply the desire to abandon oneself in an emotion. “Notes, sounds, musical phrases are meant only as a pretext to refine the perception of silence,” shouts Stefano, pianist, organist, composer, poet and art theorist, who decided, after a brilliant concert career, to devote himself to improvisation, seen as an empathic and atavistic communication experience. Modular connection (structure) is therefore their inalienable code; while the piano improvises introducing the audience’s emotions into the music, the voice intervenes unexpectedly evoking well-known melodies from classic and popular repertoires. The result is an original combination of different atmospheres balanced between irony, contemplation, surprise, research and philological disrespect.


Giorgia Ragni (1981) gets a degree in lyrical singing in 2007 at “G. Rossini” Conservatory in Pesaro.

She studied Piano and Composition at the same conservatory.

She attended singing improvement courses in Italy and in the United States of America with M° Svetlana Sidorova and M° Paul Kiesgen.

In 2005 she obtains her degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Bologna.

Her attention is currently drawn to improvisation and experimental concerts-performances: Spain (2005); France (2006); Tenerife (2007); Bologna (’07); Lecco (’08); Miami-Usa (’08).

From 2005 to 2008 she taught singing at “Conoscendo” School of Fano.

From 2006 to 2008 she conducted the “G. Nolfi” choir of Fano.

Stefano Vagnini (1963) attended the Organ and Organistic Composition Course at the “G. Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro , graduating in 1987 with full marks. The following year, he earns an Electronic Music Degree.

In 1986 he attends the Organ Course at Georgia State University (USA) with M° S. Martin.

He has an intense concert agenda both in Italy and abroad: U.S.A. (’86-’08), France (’89-’06), Germany (’92-’93-’99), Austria (’99), Switzerland (’99), Russia (’95), Brazil (’95-’98), Argentina (’95-’98), Uruguay (’95-’98), China (’98), Spain (’05-’07). He has composed music for video (Linz Prize ’86-Austria), ballet (Cappuccetto Rosso, Le fou de Notre Dame, Kroma) and for theatre (Aspettando Godot, Thesys), in addition to compositions for organ, band music (Te Deum, Messa Picena), orchestra and choir (Il Meraviglioso segreto del Biondo).

He recorded his first album, “Isola di Koch” (containing pieces by J. S. Bach, M.Reger and S. Vagnini), at the Notre Dame Cathedral of Paris.

In 1994 saw the publication of his oratory: "Nicolaus" ( Bongiovanni Editions, Bologna), a composition for medieval instruments and choristers , written on the occasion of the famous fresco painting restorations from the Riminese School.

In 2002, Falcon Valley Music published the "Via Crucis" oratory for organ, choir and computer.

In 2003 his "Messa Picena" was published, a composition dedicated to liturgical service for celebrant, leading spirit and plenum.

He taught organ and organ composition at the Verona and Aquila conservatories.

From 1999 to 2006 he conducted the Mezio Agostini Lyric Choir from Fano.

From 2000 to 2008 he conducted the Slave Song Gospel Choir from Fano.

From 1986 he has been the Artistic Director of the International Organistic Festival of Fano (S. Maria la Nova Church).

Stefano Vagnini has theorized the Modular Art Concept in his publication "The Modular Method in Music".

His latest publication dates back to 2008 : “Salmodiesubliminali” (Campanotto Editions, Udine). It comes in a box containing poetries and a dvd with unpublished music for piano. Maestro Vagnini’s more recent line of research is , in fact, directed at piano improvisation and poetry in its experimental form.

The duo’s current commitment is addressed to research, improvisation and world diffusion of Modular Art and the Italian artistic and musical culture.
