A lyricist hears music and adds texture, depth and breadth, and color through the interplay of words and melody -- transforming the music and the listener and making them one flesh. This transcending power of expression through music is the force that propels Aija’s artistry. A neo soul/experimental pop singer-songwriter based in San Francisco, Aija’s musical palette of lyrics and melody draws its power from her desire to connect with others. ‘I live to explore my humanity through the arts and believe that in doing so I not only find myself, but help people understand themselves as well.' Her sultry, pulsating sound draws inspiration from influences including Sade, Fiona Apple, Beatles and Jill Scott. Her aim is to revitalize the consciousness of music through lyrics creating memorable songs that will stand the test of time and leave a legacy that has something to say, provoke s thoughts and creates a mood of oneness.
