"Will that she could"

Fortuitous, really, to be listening to the new Feist album this morning — and then stumbling upon our very own Feist. Can’t claim too much unearthing talent here; unfortunately the unknown-to-me-before-now Ainslie Wills was discovered by Missy Higgins before us: Ainslie has been chosen to support Missy at the Palais later this month.

If ‘Green Coloured Grass’ is any indication — and it’s the only one I have right now — then Ainslie ought to outperform that increasingly super-slick lyric mangler.

Bio

The moody heart-driven ballad Green Coloured Glass, the first track off
Ainslie Wills’ self-titled EP, was the song that caught the attention of aria-award winning Missy Higgins who hand-picked the Melbourne-based chanteuse to support her on the Victorian shows of her national tour in May 2007 through Triple J unearthed.
Wills and her musical companions have since been sharing and supporting the stage with the likes of Iota, Custom Kings, Hazel Brown, Clinkerfield, The Shivers, Cilla Jane, Rosie Burgess, Emilie Gassin and more.
Influences ranging from Chopin through David Bowie to Jeff Buckley and beyond, the trio share an eclectic mix of musical tastes and deliver a sharp, evocative and quietly brilliant body of original tunes.
