"Pleasant Wednesday Night Surprise"

"The "pleasant Wednesday night surprise" came when Airports and Atlases started their sound check. I thought I recognized the lead singer as that of Victim Victorious who I had taken mental note of a while back in 2006 after catching a few decent songs at the end of a set... Turns out it was indeed the same fellow, Aaron Miller, and mostly the same band- VV changed their name to Airports and Atlases after recently acquiring a new guitarist. The new member, Reese Hagy, greatly complimented the overall sound with added texture and the occasional counter-melody over Miller's cozy-toned 70's Fender. Besides the fact that I'm a bit of a sucker for dual guitar action, this band had solid song structures; very straightforward and clean. They played with strength and cohesiveness throughout the set, and listeners gravitated towards the stage with each new song, clapping, hooting, and whistling their approval.

For me, the main glue and defining element of Airports' sound was Aaron Miller's strong vocals. The nuances in Miller's warm, natural tone were very ear-catching, and the relaxed ease with which he sang seemed to bring out a unique thoughtfulness in his words." - Red Bike - www.howwastheshow.com

"Hexagon Show 9-27-07"

Their are some great local bands, such as popular bands White Light Riot, The Alarmists, and Cloud Cult. If you dig deep into the underground scene Airports and Atlases are slowly making a climb. Currently A and A are my favorite local band and have so much talent it's insane. This was the best local performance I've seen from a band. I'll be on a mission to set these guys up with some tour dates and put together some promo dvd's for them. Their CD release show is scheduled for Nov. 3rd at the Nomad. Be there!! - Brody McCoy - www.britishrockisalwaystop.blogspot.com

Bio

Chris came from Perham MN. Aaron is from Whitefish MT. Reese is from Fayetteville NC. Matt is from Grand Rapids MN. Dustin is from Mooresville, NC.We met in the middle, on accident, and started making music. From there, we learned to celebrate our differences and make way too much of our similarities. We have fun doing the only thing we know how and want to do...make great songs. This has been going on for a little over a year now. Though we sometimes think about seing other people, the make-up sex keeps us together. Look we love to have fun and make music. That's it!
