Bio

The AJAGORE band was established In the end of the past century. The first CD has been titled simply „AJAGORE”, has crowned the first stage of our artistic work These are the 12 songs which were inspired by folk songs and tunes from various regions of Poland. The period between 1999 and 2002 passed in accordance with cauntless concerts (who would remember how many of these took place..) and meetings on several folk festivals. For some reasons – more or less dependent on ouselves- AJAGORE ceased artistic work. One Winter day, year 2006 - like a phoenix from the ashes, AJAGORE re-appeared with the following members: S³awomir Kornas – bass, vocal; Micha³ Szczeblewski –drums; Maciej Kortas – guitar. As a result of playing together and exchanging musical experience, a new image of the band has emerged. These days we are still referring to commonly known folk music. However, the voice of individual ambition is more sound and music desire can be heard more often. We are working on a new project. With the partnerschip of Irek Wojtczak (woodwind instruments) we have recorded four tracks; let them be the foretaste of what is going to happen soon. Maciej Kortas Electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, guitar synthesizer, music writer. Co-establisher of Ajagore. Session music artist. Of fixed work with Krystyna Proñko’s side. Co-worked with: Gra¿yna £obaszewska, Mira Kubasiñska, Jorgos Skolias, Wybrze¿e Theater, Music Theater. S³awomir Kornas Vocal, bass, lyric/music writer. Co-establisher of Ajagore. Micha³ Szczeblewski Drums; working in daily basis with Andre Ocholdlo. He is also a member of Mackiewicz’s and Wojtczak’s bands. Co-worked with: Hanna Banaszak, Gra¿yna £obaszewska, Wybrze¿e Theater, Music Theater. Irek Wojtczak Saxophone; composer; the graduate of Music Academy in Gdañsk. Working as a session music artist, he creates music for the needs of movie and theater – recordings to trans-opera (A Midsummer Night's Dream), music by Leszek Mo¿d¿er. In 2004 as Irek Wojtczak quartet he recorded an album, titled “Look to the sky” with music by Antonio Carlos Jobim, and in 2005 he recorded his first individual album – “Outlook”
