AJ Degrasse and Chris Paul Overall have both honed their musical talents in the Gypsy Lounge (Lake Forest, California) on Tuesday nights over the years and the fruit of their labour has resulted in both artists winning the Orange County music awards for their solo efforts; both artists can be found on My Space if you want to listen to their solo efforts. AJ Degrasse lends a certain husky Joe Cocker quality to his work and Chris Paul Overall is like a mellow John Lennon. Together, they are magic. Here, they have included one of my favorite hymns, Amazing Grace, but the stunning song Sweeter the Pain (I will sing) is an original song by both artists and is an outstanding piece of work. You may not think that hymns are something you'd like to download to your i-pod but you'd be making a serious mistake by overlooking this collaborative work. If you want to get off the ferris wheel for an hour, and listen to some mellow, moving music....you can't do better than this. This isn't cheesy Christian rock, but music with real heart, real soul and a passion that is self-evident. Above all else, these guys are really down to earth and friendly and deserve to do well.

The artistry AJ and Chris deliver would be enough to have them back leading worship. But the power brought to the hymns, freshly composed and sung w/ passion, sets these guys apart. "Nothing but the Blood" rocked the house w/ reverence and joy.

AJ DEGRASSE, singer-songwriter, worship leader - brings a unique and sophisticated piano
style, a broad soulful voice, and a tenderness of spirit. Growing up in San Diego, CA, his
influences ranged from Ray Charles to Bruce Hornsby to Marc Cohn and Sting. He began
with classical piano training then later jazz, film music, and composition studies at university.
At the age of 20, AJ heeded the call to devote his life to music-making, especially in the
context of mission and ministry. For the past 12 years he has served in churches as worship
leader and led team music missions abroad. He currently lives in Long Beach, CA.

CHRIS PAUL OVERALL (CPO), singer-songwriter, worship leader - came up in Irving, Texas
in a family of music makers. His father Robin is a professional guitarist & songwriter and his
sister Sara a major recording artist in Los Angeles. Chris is blessed with an enormous vocal
range, beauty and control that feed the transparent desperation in the music he sings and
the worship he leads. In 2006 he met AJ at a performance in Southern California and struck
a friendship that came to reveal a shared love for singing the old hymns. Thus began The
