Bio

98% of their music repertoire is original tunes written by AJ Ramos. A few of the tunes have lyrics, but their music is primarily instrumental. You will be mesmerized by the smooth flow of “Softly Spoken” or blown away by the fast-paced, move-you-outta-your seat vibe of “Drive”. The Latin feel of “Spanish Lady” makes even the Salsa novice want to get on the floor and shake a tail feather.
Since the groups’ inception, they have performed weekly with a consistent, concise, cohesiveness of a band that has been together for years. This group of musicians has an inner strength and camaraderie that’s rare. Just one look or a nod is all it takes for them to communicate the music from their soul to the audience.

Arturo Jasso Ramos Jr.
(AKA “AJ”)

Arturo Jasso Ramos Jr. was born in 1967 in Brownfield, Texas. He picked up his first guitar at 12 years old. Elvis Presley and the Beatles were only some of his idols. After several years of playing in many different bands he realized he needed to learn more. AJ started attending Lee College in Baytown, TX where he played with the Big Jazz Band. There he opened his mind to the amazing music of jazz.

He now dedicates his heart and soul to composing his own jazz feel, and listens to the great jazz stars of yesterday and today. He is now married to Betty Ramos and has five children and one granddaughter.

Casey Bennett
[AKA The "Jazz Wolf"]

Casey Bennett was born in Houston, TX in 1958. He picked up his brother's guitar at the ripe old age of seven and has been playing bass guitar, and rhythm guitar ever since. At 14 years old he would sneak out of his bedroom window at night and thumb it down to Cullen Blvd. He was determined to hang out with the bands so he could "learn to play the blues". He owns a recording business and is currently working on several projects.

He resided on the island of Oahu, Hawaii for many years. There he performed at various establishments and private events. As a hobby he burns pictures onto wood focusing the sun's rays through a magnifying glass in any spare time he can find. He is also a self proclaimed gardening freak. He likes to eat sushi and sashimi. He believes in world peace...

Kelvin L. Gilbert
{AKA “KG”}

Kelvin Larsell Gilbert was born in Baytown, TX in 1957. He began playing the drums at 3 years old. Kelvin began his musical training in the church as a full time percussionist. While in high school he had the pleasure of playing and traveling with Doc Severinsen and his band. He is the featured drummer on four of his albums. After attending Texas Tech, he played with Yarborough and Peoples and many more artists both on live performances and as a studio musician.

Kelvin’s hobbies include traveling and a good game of chess. He spends his leisure time with his wife, six children and six grandchildren at home or church. Kelvin loves a variety of musical styles, but his favorites are Gospel, Jazz, R&B and Classical. Kelvin’s musical talents extend far beyond the Rhythm section. He is a gifted vocalist and soloist. He has performed vocally at several functions to include weddings, funerals, parties and conventions.
