"SBBS ANNOUNCES BATTLE OF THE BANDS WINNER"

HELENA, AR (July 1, 2005) - Sonny Boy Blues Society (SBBS) officials announces A J and the Two Tone Blues Band winner of their annual Battle of the Bands competition held the weekend of June 17th and 18th at the Queen Of Clubs in West Helena.
This qualified the band to performed on the main stage at the King Bisquit Blues Festival's 20th anniversery Oct. 2005.
At the annual International Blues Competition, hosted by the Blues Foundation January 2006 with 130 bands competing from around the world, A J and the Two Tone Blues Band placed 4th. in the top 10 of 130+ bands.

Formed in 1987, the Sonny Boy Blues Society is named after Sonny Boy Williamson, one of the primary performers on the legendary King Biscuit Time radio program. The organization consists of members from over forty states and ten countries and is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization managing and producing the annual King Biscuit Blues Festival, Blues Aid, and Blues in Schools program. The society began with a mission and is proud to be a leader in the blues world to honor that mission to this day; to preserve and promote the rich heritage and art of the traditional delta blues.

A J and the Two Tone Blues Band would like to share the fantastic news as the winners of the Sonny Boy Blues Society Battle of the Bands Competition on June 18, 2005 in Helena, AR.

As a result of this award they performed at the King Biscuit Blues Festival main stage October 6, and qualified them to compete in the IBC, International Blues Competition, in Memphis in January, 2006.

A. J. AND THE TWO TONE BLUES BAND PLACED 4th OF 130 BANDS FROM AROUND THE WORLD AT THE INTERNATIONAL BLUES COMPETITION IN MEMPHIS ON JAN 28, 2006

A. J. Cascio on vocals and harmonica: his son, Tony Cascio, playing lead/rhythm guitar; Rod Tompkins on bass guitar; Randy Cassell on drums and Ken Jacobs on guitar. Currently one of the most sought-after bands in the area having played at area festivals such as American Red Cross Blues Fest, The T-Bone Walker Blues Festival,The National Blues Festival, Louisiana Heritage Festival, Jammin' for Literacy, Dilla Fest, Red River Revel, The United States Barbecue & Red River Bluesfest, Mudbug Madness and Red River Radio Jazz & Blues Festival. They have performed at the Natchitoches Jazz and Blues Festival every year since 1995. In 2003 the band played the Red River Radio Americana Festival in Nacogdoches, Texas, hosted the Blues Jam at Boomtown Casino every Monday in 2003, and performed in the "Celebrity Lounge" at Hollywood Casino. They performed at the new Eldorado Casino in Shreveport, La. from Feb. 14 thru. 18, 2006.

Around the region and Shreveport, Bossier City, A. J. and the Two Tone Blues Band played at Tommy's, Juri's Cafe, Noble Savage Tavern, Red River District, clubs in east Texas, The Isle of Capri, Hollywood, Sam's Town & Boomtown Casinos, and special events at Louisiana Downs Racetrack. The band opened for Koko Taylor at the "Bugs, Blues and Barbeque Festival" at Boomtown Casino.

Cascio calls his sound Delta Blues with a Chicago flavor. Playing a mixture of songs made famous by Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Elmo James, Howlin Wolf, Otis Redding, Muddy Waters, Bobby Bland, B.B. King, Sonny Boy Williamson and Magic Slim.

"Blues House"-"Down the Road"-"1510 Fairfield Avenue"-and "Blues Is My Jones", are all originals written by members of the Band.
