AJ Flow Biography

Juan Ariel Henríquez better known in the artistic world as “AJ Flow” was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic and grew up in Caimito, San Francisco De Macorís in the Dominican Republic on July 27, 1983. He began his studies in the rural school of Caimito. During this time, he developed his love for sports, particularly Track and Field. Years later he decided to travel with his parents to the capital, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Soon after, AJ Flow’s family decided to travel to the United States in search of the American Dream. In the United States AJ Flow continued training in his favorite sports, Olympic Fighting and Track and Field. At the age of 14, AJ Flow traveled to Puerto Rico representing the United States for a chance to compete in the Olympic Fighting Team as one of the most outstanding competitors of the country.

During his triumphant return, after having obtained several medals of recognition, AJ Flow decided to enter into the Music Industry as a percussionist. Since AJ Flow’s childhood, he has had a passion for music. It was his passion for music that contributed to his decision to part from the Olympic wrestling tryouts and pursue a career in music. AJ Flow began to look at the music in a different light; no longer as a hobby, but as a goal in life. AJ Flow also played with other groups in the Latin genre such as Pablo Bachata, Future Group, the Pimps, Secret Group, and DR Flow.

AJ Flow initiates his career in 2005 as a solo artist and begins to record various songs in the Reggaeton genre. With these songs, he traveled throughout the United States and the Dominican Republic. In obtaining much success, this young man was chosen to perform and participate in some of the most important festivals and parades that took place in Boston, Connecticut, Providence, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, New Jersey & New York.

Due to all this success and the acceptance of the public, AJ Flow decided to begin a tour within the Dominican Republic in 2006. AJ Flow has had the privilege of participating in several musical videos from other artists as well as creating four videos of his own. Years later he decided to change from Reggaeton to Urban Meringue (Mambero). At this time, he created his own band titled Mambo Diamante. At the moment, AJ Flow is filming several chapters of a movie titled “Los Mamberos” as one of the main characters.

It has been a while since AJ Flow has been able to perform with his own group but with upcoming performances and promotional activities AJ Flow is determined to do whatever it takes to become a successful artist in the music industry.
