Aussie Jazz Quartet

Aussie Jazz Quartet

Imagine: Norah Jones meets Candy Dulfer, add a generous splash of jazz juice, a good dose of Australian humour, and you’d have something resembling the recipe for the Aussie Jazz Quartet (AJQ).

Fresh from critically acclaimed performances in Europe and the USA this young and energetic quartet never fail to delight audiences with their charismatic performances. Their versatility sees them switch effortlessly between jazz standards, cocktail music and high calibre contemporary jazz. They are more recently renowned for their innovative collaborations with some of New York’s top DJ’s, fusing the genres of jazz and hiphop.

All graduates of the Elder Conservatorium in South Australia, the AJQ formed in 2003. They are currently Royal Caribbean International’s premier jazz group, recently impressing audiences in their residency during the inaugural cruises of the newest, largest and most innovative cruiseship in the world (Freedom of the Seas).

With influences as diverse as Herbie Hancock,, Maceo Parker and Dave Matthews the AJQ has shared the stage with the likes of Blood Sweat and Tears, The Whispers, Barry Manilow and Jimmy Barnes.

The musical finesse of this vibrant group belies their youth and good looks.
