Bio

AJQJ are a 3 piece Alt Rock band from the Lowestoft/Gorleston area of East Anglia. First formed around December 2014 as a 4 piece, they’ve announced a new lineup for 2019 after a 2 year hiatus.

The band's debut material, in the form of the 'Foundations' E.P., was released in September 2015. The E.P. was received well, with radio airplay that includes 3/4 of the tracks played on BBC Introducing in Norfolk, and tracks played on Amazing Radio, Buzz Radio (Brighton) and Future Radio. The release helped to set a strong foundation for the band, playing as many local shows as we could manage, both as a support to touring acts (such as Racing Glaciers), or as a headliner in established venues such as the Waterfront Studio. Over time, the band have started to develop a strong hometown following, and regularly saw a high turnout for hometown shows.

In September 2016, we released a brand new single titled 'Sugar', recorded in June/July 2016. As part of the promo for the release, the band also embarked on our debut UK Tour, where we hit Brighton, Norwich and London on a short run of DIY booked dates. The single became our most successful song to date, being chosen as BBC Introducing's "Record of the Week" on BBC Radio Norfolk, as well as receiving widespread acclaim from fans and new listeners alike.

All our music so far has been recorded completely DIY, with the drums recorded in our local Sixth Form College, and bass, guitars and vocals all recorded in our singer's bedroom.

We don't, however, ignore quality. The tracks are re-amped, mixed and mastered by Oz Craggs (Feed The Rhino, Mallory Knox, Neck Deep), and we're always astonished by the final product; we hope you enjoy it too.

With a new lineup of course comes a new energy and sound, and our new single, “Another Dose Of Your Love” reflects this change perfectly, while the set still honours the original sound that fans enjoyed initially.

We highly advise that you keep your eyes and ears out for AJQJ in the near future as we will be taking to a stage near you, showing every corner of the country what we're all about. This time around, we mean business.
