AKAI $OLO is a rebellious hip hop artist from Brooklyn. Who represents the individual and is the absolute manifestation of freedom. Effortlessly dismembering beats with abstract lyrics and higher consciousness wordplay. Akai is able to measure up against anyone in your regular debate today in terms of skill as an MC while seemingly able to remove himself from the realm at will. Akai seeks to completely eradicate the barriers that separate people from each other. Using vintage anime among a plethora of unorthodox yet deep references to relay messages and tell personal stories, Akai represents a part of New York City that hasn't been explored yet. A gallant, yet ironically...still somber, still gritty New York. Hoping that as people listen to him be completely himself through his music it helps others be themselves in their daily lives. With such an adamant mindset for his plans, complimented by his unique approach he is definitely someone to watch very closely. $olo is also the leader of the rising collective artistic movement , "Tase Grip" whose purpose, in his own words is to "grip this world and the next." He recently released the highly anticipated project entitled, "(D)ragon" which he says will, "begin the counter attack on the close minded." Akai is also currently working on his upcoming EP, entitled "GALES". Set for launch in the spring, Akai says that "GALES" "slays dragons."

"GALES" is AKAI $OLO's debut EP and it is set to be dropped in the spring. Gales is a project that will tap into the freedom that he represents. Every track is a force of nature, able to stand alone yet made that much more formidable when viewed with the remaining parts of the whole. The feeling that this project will​ emulate is freefalling through consciousness.
