"Akamai Drone the Details"

(Originally published in Wax Words from the article titled "Akamai Drone-The Details" Author E.L.S.)

The artist you are about to experience is everything but ordinary, especially with a name like Akamai Drone. With such tracks as 'Still Fading' & 'Shallow', his are some of the most experimental sounds. An open mind is necessary for listening, as the tracks are complicated in structure and melody. It's a clash between electronic trip hop beats & industrial metal. Influences include, but aren't limited to The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, Goldfrapp, Esthero and more.

He explained, with a passion, the details of the solo record he created. What first sparked Christian Imes interest to birth Akamai Drone were the repetitive genres on the radio. Other bands he played with weren't keeping his attention, as he described them to become stale. He was filled with ideas and feelings that he yearned to convey, yet didn't feel the satisfaction that follows expression.

So, he embarked on his own. He began writing music when he was fourteen. "After a few years of playing in different bands and a few crazy relationships, I had all I needed to start writing the songs…" Imes tells me. It was at the end of 2003 when he formed Akamai Drone. He will remain as the sole creator, however there will be different musicians that he'll write music with. Live appearances will feature a band to play the music he wrote.

Though these songs are from a darker aura and bring a rough sound at first, the desire to live through music while enlightening musicians and fans emanates through Christian unlike most artists you'll find. That fact, along with endless efforts, he is sure to make a mark in the industry. The kinetic energy he portrays should be an example to striving artists of any taste.
