aKeith

aKeith [pronounced ay-keith] is an Singer-Songwriter from Baltimore, MD. Born with a love of music, aKeith grew up in an household filled with the love of music and singing. Growing up somewhat of an introvert, music, creative art and his action figures kept him happy. Chart topping artist like Prince and Toni Braxton were always a go to of his mother's music collection.

Early on, aKeith was taught to be independent and a leader, not a follower. With that, he earned a Leadership Award by the age of 10/11 and a trip to meet well known doctor, Dr. Ben Carson. Once in high school, aKeith became a part of the student government and utilized his imagination and creativeness to put together school dances with elaborate themes. Upon graduation, he wrote his first 3 songs.

Entering into adulthood, the main objective became working and moving out of his mother's house. Witnessing the cost of fame left a sour taste in his mouth about working in the entertainment industry. aKeith continued to write songs and poems, but wasn't interested in taking it further than a book deal.

Once he hit a bump in the road and realized the jobs he had been working weren't fulfilling, he knew it was time. aKeith found someone on Twitter with a recording studio to record his first song, 'Waiting For Your Love'. With no vocal coaching ever, he pulled it off -- but he wasn't satisfied. He decided to see a vocal coach and go at it again, but still wasn't happy with the result. Afraid of putting himself out there, he stalled on mastering the track.

As months went by, he found himself on Craig's List looking for a music producer to create music to his writings. Little did he know, the music producer was open to creating a band as well. After some thought, aKeith agreed and went on to write a few songs with a band. Not making it out of the basement caused aKeith to retreat and come up with a plan.
That plan later had him moving to New York and recording 'Waiting For Your Love' a third time, along with a few other tracks that can be found on Reverbnation.com/aKeith.

With Dedication and respect for the craft and a new found optimism for life, aKeith wants his music to touch and influence the world. He wants fans [and everyone] to embody who they are, know that they aren't alone and to be strong leaders.
