A Kid Hereafter

"A Kid Hereafter" is my, Frederik Thaae's soloproject.

I'm born in 1978, began music studies at age 9, playing mainly classical and electric guitar. Wrote and released material with metal bands until age 16, where my venture into jazz and experimental music began. I arranged concerts in various alternate settings, released underground exp records and won several nationwide artfocused contests around this time.
In 2000 I formed the edgy electronic/symphonic popgroup "Perfect". This group produced 2 independent releases in Denmark, much national airplay and local gigging. Liveshows included a larger string section as well as syncronized videoprojections.
In 2002 I began studying music production at the Royal Conservatory in Copenhagen, leading to several crossover projects including small classical ensembles. I've scored and produced a couple of shortfilms and played bass on the band "Düreforsög"'s latest international release on Billy Gould's label, Kool Arrow. Since 2000, I've also worked with remixing most of the top names in the Danish music industry, including Filur and Labrador.
Formed in late 2004, "A Kid Hereafter" is entirely my own project, which I look at as a sort of workshop, where I invite different people in to work with me on the songs. I don't set any stylistic limitations other than I want the music to be uplifting and accessible, without losing it's edge. The inspiration comes from Beach Boys, They Might Be Giants, Adam Green, Outcast, Early Yes and Brahms. The recording of my debut album is in progress, and is set to be released in early spring 2006 on american/danish label Iwave Records.
For live performances I have two different setups: a accoustic with a "Classical" trio featuring Cello, Piano, Guitar and 3 vocals and a full rockband playing the album arrangements.
