Bio

Like LeBron James' jump from prep school to the professional ranks, Da A-Team's career jump is on the rise. A.K. Shay and J. Reevez, better known worldwide as Da A-Team, is the hottest new rap group in the music industry today.
These two young lyricists have a style that makes them unique. Furthermore, with influences that consist of Outkast, Elton John, and Lenny Kravitz, Da A-Team emits a vibe that crosses all boundaries and ethnicity. Although they hail from the dirty south, their rhymes transcend throughout the country. They began their rap career in 1996, when the two had an opportunity to write for the then hot artist "Freak Nasty".
Writing the majority of the songs on "Freak Nasty's" Controversee album, the two began performing with the group. Spawning a worldwide frenzy, the two young writers had a multi-platinum hit on their hands, with their involvement in the creation of Da Dip b/w Down Low (remix). The album sold more than 400,000 copies independently, and later became nominated in 1997 for the MTV best dance video of the year award. This song today still gets the crowd hype no matter where it is played.
Da A-Team has toured with some of the music industry's top groundbreakers and shakers. From OutKast, Backstreet Boys, Scarface, Dru Hill, Bone Thugs N Harmony, 112, Lil Kim, SWV, Keith Sweat, Roger and Zapp, Ginuine, Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, 2 live Crew, 69 Boyz, The Lost Boys, Beanie Man, and E-40 just to name a few.
Da A-Team has written and performed on various projects, including Jerry Springer Ring Master the movie soundtrack; they wrote lyrics for Freak Nasty during his feature on The 2 Live Crew's lead single 2 Live Party also featuring K.C. of K.C. and The Sunshine Band.
They continued to write and perform on Freak Nasty's follow up albums, Time After Time (single), Which Way Is Up (album), HardHood Hustla (album), and the Freak Nasty World (album). Collectively, this talented duo has sold over 3.5 million units independently through writing and performing. Today, with a new production team, a new independent label, a new attitude and fresh new ideas, Da A-Team is poised to create a refreshing new sound out of Atlanta.
