AKKA MAKKA MIA – FOLK WITH ROOTS IN THE FUTURE

Biography

AKKA MAKKA MIA – FOLK WITH ROOTS IN THE FUTURE
Akka Makka Mia is born out of the clash between old and new, folk music and electronica. At the center are the traditional Scandinavian folk ballads, interpreted with great passion and dedication by singer Mia Guldhammer. The songs are wowen into a unique universe of sound, consisting of samples of natural phenomena, house hold appliances and other real sounds, assisted by sound bits found deep in the core of the laptop and mixed together by David Mondrup using his very own recipe, while Perry Stenbäcks ancient Nordic string instruments add organic melody. The results are an extraordinary sound alluding to both past and future while delighting in the present.
