ar'braf (Beats Rhymes And Flows)

AR’BRAF...I'm an artist with an odd name and an even flow. BRAF stands for Beats Rhymes And Flows. As a kid growing up in Brooklyn, I was heavily influenced by artists like Big Daddy Kane, KRS One, Slick Rick, Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Wu Tang Clan and Nas. From these artists I learned the importance of content, originality, stage presence and delivery. I realized early on that I had to push my pen to join the ranks of the elite. Though, I started rapping for fun, I gradually evolved. I graduated from rhyming in ciphers to recording in studios, from rocking stages to starting my own independent record label, Akustyx Entertainment, with producer and fellow artist, See Watts. In a business where many follow the mantra of “less is more,” I make music that overflows with poetry, varying subject matter and heart. My love of hip hop, history, community and even comic books are obvious in my music. In the Fall of 2010, I released my debut album, “Manchild in the Promised Land.” The album is inspired by the Claude Brown classic novel of the same name. Welcome to Akustyx University.
