The Bricks, Bricktown and brick City are all nicknames for the city of Newark, New Jersey. Newark is the birth place of many well known Hip Hop artist such as Queen Latifah, Naughty by Nature, The Fugees, and Redman to name a few. Now, Newark native Akwylah hopes he can be the next Rap artist to represent for his hood. Akwylah's impressive hip hop song writing ability coupled with his trade mark high energy performances allow him to stand out from other artist and leave fans wanting more. Akbar was given the name Akwylah by hit producer Vada Nobles, who is known for his work with Rihanna "Pon De Replay" and Lauren Hill "The Miseducation Of Lauren Hill". Akwylah's intensity packed, street savvy laced emotionally conscious style can be labeled as nothing less then popular hip hop. Akwylah is presently in the studio working on his album, which he hopes to have released by late 2008. Awylah says that his next album is going to be action packed and will definitely make the hip hop world acknowledge him as a serious player in the game.
