Alabaster Stone - Bio
Ryan Johnson And Michelle Kubacki have formed what some would call a folk rock renascence duo. With the flavor of Richard and Mimi to those old enough to remember and with a haunting mating of two separate but equally delightful voices that seem to play well off of one another.
Ryan has been a steady force in the San Luis Obispo music scene for many years, first playing guitar and singing for Glider, an extremely popular local rock band who opened The Live Oak Music Festival eight years ago, then with Rain fur Rent and most recently with Tropo. His slide guitar is unmistakable in their music.
Michele is the unknown quantity to me, but Ryan recognized a quality in her musical talent and took her under his wing about a year ago and the two have been making great music together ever since.
Alabaster Stone does many Ryan Johnson originals and covers of such artists as Warren Zevon, Radiohead, and Ryan Adams. Also a great cover of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance.”
