Alain Nkossi Konda

Born in the capital of the DR of Congo (Kinshasa) of Angolan origins and raised in NYC for 29 years prior to relocating to the most Southern part of Germany in 2004. Nkossi is a heavily engaged "Goodwill Ambassador" for the Munich based Water Foundation & UNICEF; he has won multiple International Song writing awards including a Silver Medal from the Academic Society of Arts, Sciences & Letters in Paris, France for his commitment to the promotion of African Arts & Culture.

The  Divine Académie which is based in Paris and will be celebrating its 22 years of existence shall bestow upon Nkossi the honorary title of Ambassador of Arts & Culture during a Ceremony & Gala Dinner on October 18th 2017 at the Palace Lounge located at  the Four Seasons - George V in Paris @8PM where he will also receive a Gold Medal for services rendered to the Arts, Culture and Society.

Nkossi is well aware of the power of music and his desire to communicate through it transcends borders. He belongs to this group of artists who understood that music is the most wonderful way to convey ideas, feelings and passions. Music overwhelms him, devours him to the point where he manages to dominate it, shape it and extrapolate it in such a way that we can perceive it as a universal language.

This is a language that he likes to share and which he transcends during his live performances. He is one of these artists we call amazing performer. During his stage acts we immerse into his musical world and cant help to let ourselves be carried away by the crazy swirl of his innovative and haunting style. The least that can be said is it lifts and stirs you up while keeping a great musical quality all throughout the whole experience.

On his current Albums respectively titled "An African original" (live Studio album feat. Aarons Comess from the "Spin Doctors" on drums) & "Traditional Me" (Acoustic album) recorded between New York, Munich, Immenstadt, Sevilla and Copenhagen, Alain Nkossi Konda literally fuses and revisits with much energy and emotions the different Ghosts of the musical styles which he has been influenced by. His thick velvety yet gentle vocal timbre glides through on warm bed of sound tracks which is supported by incomparable musicianship that organically fuses Rumba, African folk,Jazz, Soukous, Reggae & even Rock to reveal refreshing grooves sung mainly in his native Lingala tongue (Language from the DR of Congo), all cleverly intertwined occasionally with his adoptive Languages of English & French. The recipe for this Culture pop as Nkossi likes to call it, is the organic fusion of three Cultures, one Spirit and one voice.  

Nkossi was the first signing by Mr. Belafonte in early 2001 when he created a joint venture label (Niger Records/ Palm Pictures) with Island Records founder Chris Blackwell.

His latest album "An African original" will be released during the Spring or ealry Summer of 2018.

Currently Alain is preparing for the "Official" launch of his pet project "I AM SOMEBODY" www.iamsomebody.de for which a Single featuring LIVING COLOUR Musicians Will CALHOUN (Drums) & Doug WIMBISH (Bass) are featured.
