Fresh off the latest recording with Donny McCaslin in NYC a lot has been happening for Alan Blackman and his ensemble. Chamber Music America granted him a commission to compose the Coastal Suite, an hour long piece featuring projected images of coastal art. The CD is set to release Fall 2013 and will be featured on NPR 4 times in the coming year! Alan is featured on Mike Pope's forthcoming release and also has an arrangement on Joe Locke's Signings release. The Banff Centre in Canada has just granted Alan a residency for the Fall/Winter of 2013 and he is booked at JazzAhead in Europe for 2014.
