Bio

Vocalist and guitarist Alan Kelly is Dublin born and sings traditional and original songs.His new album “Silver to Gold” was recorded with many of Australia's best musicians, including the gifted percussionist Ty Skinner, a young ex metal drummer from Brisbane, and electric guitar wizard Ben Mc Gregor. The recording is receiving nothing but positive and passionate response in the music industry. “Silver to Gold” will be launched on Novemeber 2 2012.

Alan's songwriting talents have won him several awards, the most recent being the 2011 Queensland Music Award for World music.
Alan had teh pleasure of recording as a bodhran soloist for the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. He lives in a big blue house on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
On the Sunshine coast and beyond Kelly is loved for his ability to make the party happen, whatever the venue, or the size and age of the crowd.
This well loved Irishman is also the front man and driving force behind Celtic 6 piece, the Barleyshakes, and his energy as a performer never fails to captivate his audience. His vocal style is rich, dynamic and full of emotions, “all seven of them”.
This Dubliner has toured all over the world performing alternative, indie & folk rock, Irish folk, Tribal and World music styles at Glastonbury, Roskilda, Woodford, Port Fairy, Wintermoon, St Gampel (Switzerland). He has shared the stage with Metallica, Kila, The Frames, Joe Cocker.
Alan has composed and performed for some of Europe’s best Street Theatre companies and is currently one of the volunteers behind the Peregian originals open air community concerts on the Sunshine coast.
And also the host of Songwriters at The Shared Creative Arts Centre in Yandina.
