BandFolkAcoustic

When a song makes an emotional connection with the listener, really moves a person to FEEL something the songwriter/performer has achieved the ultimate goal. This is the goal that I strive for with every song. I truly believe in the power of "The Great Song".

Lyrics

Two Is All Alone

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

Today I feel less than zero
Yeah this smile is a hard time fought
I'm ok, it's alright
But please let me be
I can see she's finally forgot
I'm not one to sit around and distance myself
In some forgotten, lonely place
But what in the hell, can I possibly do
To put a smile back on her face

The time has come to wonder
If it's over now
Cuz I know that it takes two
But this two is all alone

Have you ever felt like a soldier
In an invisible war
Not quite like a real soldier
Never knowing what you're fighting for
I'm not one, to stand around
In same safe and lonley place
But what in the hell can i possibly do
To maker her heart feel the same way

The time has come to wonder
If it's over now
Cuz I know that it takes two
But this two is all alone

It seems to me
You switch things up
And take more than you give
I can see, that you can't see
That baby that's no way to live
To live, you can't live, no no

The time has come to wonder
If it's over now
Cuz I know that it takes two
But this two is all alone

Easy

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

Man it's getting colder than it should be
Don' remember it ever being quite this hard
We've been living to touch the sun
The proof for me lies in these scars
It's ok, to take the memories
Maybe even a laugh or two
It's time for me to give
You back to you

Smiles fade away, so let's just walk away

Easy isn't easy, like it should be
For you and me
Easy isn't easy, like it should be
Like it should be for you and me

Man I'm just looking for some color
These days are jaded and no one cares
I've got a movie inside my head
It's slightly blurred and barely there
It's ok, to take the memories
Maybe even a laugh or two
It's time for me to give
You back to you

Smiles fade away, so let's just walk away

Easy isn't easy, like it should be
For you and me
Easy isn't easy, like it should be
Like it should be for you and me

How many times
Do we fight, scratch and lie
Just ot get something we think we need
But when it starts breaking
And inside your aching
You'll finally see what you need
What you need

Easy isn't easy, like it should be
For you and me
Easy isn't easy, like it should be
Like it should be for you and me

It's Gonna Be Ok

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

These Ghosts, Don't want, to leave, me be
And I, can' take, the pain, they bring
Where do we go when the world gets cold and the sky is crashing down
When every turn we make is wrong and a friend just can't be found

It's gonna be ok, It's gonna be ok

I, remember when, I was torn, and broken
The words, you used, were the most, beautiful spoken
I thought I should let you know
I'm working through this pain
No more drinking and no more lying
It's getting clearer everyday

It's gonna be ok, It's gonna be ok
It's gonna be ok, yea, yea, yea
It's gonna be ok

This is no ordinary pain
Too crushed to roll it up and walk away
This house of lies is buring all around
Gotta burn the whole thing down
To the ground, ground, ground

It's gonna be ok, It's gonna be ok
It's gonna be ok, yea, yea, yea
It's gonna be ok

Sometimes, it feels, like we're all,
Unforgiven
'Cuz we see, all the dirt, that we've thrown, in every direction

But It's gonna be ok, It's gonna be ok
It's gonna be ok, yea, yea, yea
It's gonna be ok

Better That Way

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

My cold and darkened hallway
Without a picture on the wall
Is just a tragic, empty space now
You laugh no longer calls

It's better that way, It's better that way, It's better that way, It's better that way

I've torn out all the pages
Haven't left this bed in days and days
I've prayed for absolution
It's time feel some, some better days

It's better that way, It's better that way, It's better that way, It's better that way

Do you ever thnk about the night this all went down
Do you ever think about the night this all went down

We're here to let this go now
Feel the warmth of a last goodbye
My Angels at the door with an outstretched hand
Telling me it's gonna be alright

I can tell it's over now
It's better that way
You can see me leaving now
It's better that way
Never coming back again
It's better that way
It's better, it's better, it's better, it's better that way

True Reflections

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

And so, we're here, with all our imperfections
We try, so hard, to find these new directions
We're so unhappy in our skin, we can't slow down and look within and see
Our True Reflection

I wanna be, Yea just wanna be
Ok with me
I wanna wake up in the morning
And feel that warmth inside of me
So put your hand into my hand
We'll walk along the shore of that moment and be
In that perfection

If time, could just remain here
I'd be such a better man
Cuz sometimes, I feel so stupid
But I really do want to understand
I never meant to be so mean
You're the only thing that makes me clean
You are...my true direction
My true reflection
Be in that perfection
My true reflection

Who We Are

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

You love through the darkeness
And smile through the hard times
Your faith brings you courage
And Pain brings you life

This is who we are
This is who we are

The lessons we've learned
Haven't been easy or free
But the lessons life teaches
Make a better you and me

This is who we are
This is who we are

Catch me when I fall, answer when I call, do what you need to do, 'cuz I'll always be here for you

So hang your head out the window
Feel the breeze through your hair
With a childs sense of wonder
Let the moment take you there

This is who we are
This is who we are
This is who we are
This is who we are

Need

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

I feel this moment right now and I can't speak
It is, all that it is and right now, I'm just weak
I;ve been tied down, in my heart
It's no wonder, I'm alone
Time, time, time is ticking away, away

Can you tell me now
All the things you couldn't say
'Cuz I need them, I need them
May be only words for you
But do your best to talk me down
'Cuz I need them, I need them

I know that somethings got to give
There's an ocean, with a mountain in between us
We've been walking 'round wounded and this pain is just immense
I want you to own this, to feel this, mess

Can you tell me now
All the things you couldn't say
'Cuz I need them, I need them
May be only words for you
But do your best to talk me down
'Cuz I need them, I need them

Maybe we can raise a clean white flag and let surrender, over take us
I can't scream my heart anymore
to make you feel that I need

Can you tell me now
All the things you couldn't say
'Cuz I need them, I need them
May be only words for you
But do your best to talk me down
'Cuz I need them, I need them

Comes Back To You

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

If you were a color, you'd be beautiful
Spinning 'round my head like a million pictures would
And it's not like I don't understand
How incredible this is
'Cuz I do, I do and it all comes back to you, it all comes back to you

These tangles words we use are like glitter inthe sun
Unfolding into everything and everything we become
And it's not like I don't understand
How beautiful you are
'Cuz I do, I do and it all comes back to you, it all comes back to you

Sometimes I feel colorblind, stumbling through this messed up mess
Sometimes a boy, sometimes a man and sometimes even less

And it's not like I don't understand
How beautiful you are
'Cuz I do, I do and it all comes back to you, it all comes back to you
And it's not like I don't understand
How incredible we are
'Cuz I do, I do and it all comes back to you, it all comes back to you

Where'd You Go

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

I Choose, to believe that it was hard for you
And maybe, it was the hardest thing you ever had to do

I guess I never really knew you
An' I guess I never will
But I'll wait her by this front door
Look through this window sill

Where'd You Go?

Can you, ever recall ever turning around to see my face
I hope, that you did and I hope it's something you can't erase

Sometimes I more than miss you
Like every single day
So I'll wait here by this front door
And hope you find your way

Where'd You Go?
Where'd You Go?

The leaves fall down
The seasons change
Where'd you go
Where'd you go

I'll sit right here
I won't move
Where'd you go
Where'd you go

Cuz I'll be right here

Lets Fly

Written By: Alan Nesbitt

I've got no problem
Leaving this all behind
Just say the word
Show me you mean it this time

Your friends think I'm crazy
I'm just a pain in the ass
But they never gave me
Too much of nothing that lasts

If this is all we have, I think we're fine
Don't throw it away
You said you had my back all the time
Prove it today
Lets Fly

Got everything I own
In the back of this car
If we don't do this now
We'll never be who we are

Lets grab some coffee
And a pack of smokes, alright
We can talk until morning comes
Or you can sleep all night

If this is all we have
I think we're fine
So don't throw it away
You said you had my back all the time
Well prove it today
Let's fly

Their gonna call, gonna text
Gonna check
To see if you are out of your mind
Your gonna smile, gonna laugh
Gonna take a breath
And notice the time
Whatcha gonna girl?
Whatcha gonna do?
It's 10:23, and your phone hits the road

If this is all we have
I think we're fine
So don't throw it away
You said you had my back all the time
Well prove it today
Let's fly
