The Talking Cure

Written By: Alan Ness

The Talking Cure

Night falls and covers over confidence and hope,
Still standing on the hill and staring down the slope,

Old friends and future foes still populate my dreams,
What do they symbolise when nothing’s what it seems,

So uncertain, so insecure, see shades of grey,
But keep on taking the talking cure, you’ll feel ok
Feel ok. Someday.

Fight through the social jungle, through the moral maze,
Through introspective nights and hedonistic days,

So uncertain, so insecure, see shades of grey,
But keep on taking the talking cure, you’ll feel ok
Feel ok. Someday.

Love and communication help me through the fear,
The light begins to break, the path begins to clear

So uncertain, so insecure, see shades of grey,
But keep on taking the talking cure, you’ll feel ok
Feel ok. Some day.

Running Through My Veins

Running Through My Veins

Is it out of sight or all around?
Does it shout out loud or make no sound?
I know it’s mine,
It must be mine

Does it sneak up and caress your hair?
Or knock you down so you know it’s there?
I know it’s mine,
It must be mine

As warm as a whisky on a cold winters night,
Running through my veins,
Bringing hope and light,
Oh why do we still believe it’s a god-given right?
Sometimes it’s so hard,
Can’t find happiness tonight

When you were young it was everywhere,
You had all you need and enough to share,
I know it’s mine,
It must be mine

As warm as a whisky on a cold winters night,
Running through my veins,
Bringing hope and light,
Oh why do we still believe it’s a god-given right?
Sometimes it’s so hard,
Can’t find happiness tonight

Is it harder now as the years go by?
With each knock you take do you wonder why?
I know it’s mine,
It must be mine

As warm as a whisky on a cold winters night,
Running through my veins,
Bringing hope and light,
Oh why do we still believe it’s a god-given right?
Sometimes it’s so hard,
Can’t find happiness tonight

Method in Motion

Method in Motion

Walk, feel your way,
Holding on tight as you stand up and play,
You look so good,
Stepping out slowly,
You think that you can’t but you could

Talk, speak your mind,
Search for your story then shout what you find,
You know it’s right,
Step up and sing now,
You think you might not but you might

You know that I know that you might,
Find method in motion

Watch the boy, a constant source of inspiration,
Till at last his eyes light up, in celebration

Think, work it out,
Do what you can to eliminate doubt,
And then stop standing still,
You must make your move now,
You think that you won’t but you will

You know that I know that you will
Find method in motion

Watch the boy, a constant source of inspiration,
Watch his features filling up with frustration,
Giving way to thoughtfulness and concentration,
Till at last his eyes light up, in celebration,

You should stop standing still now,
Get yourself up that hill now,
You could cause a commotion,
You’ll find method in motion

Walk, feel your way,
Holding on tight as you stand up and play,
You look so good,
Stepping out slowly,
You think that you can’t but you could

You know that I know that you could,
Find method in motion

Watch the boy, etc.
