"Hot Press Reviews"

"An ultra-soft voice shows obvious influences from Josh Ritter and Nick Drake all under-pinned by excellent guitar picking. For a first attempt this is a truly worthy effort and augurs well for the future."

"The vocals recall Simon and Garfunkel at their peak."

"Rip this Joint Music Blog"

"Two artists, Alan Tully from Dublin and Marwood from New York have also made me sit up and take notice. The songs they offer are excellent and really should be out there for more people to listen to. Alan Tully's highlight is Aeons, one of the best songs I've heard this year." - Rip this Joint

"Dublin Underground Review"

"Alan Tully kicked off the night in The Boom Boom Room. My first impression was that this young fella was very popular, due to the amount of support he managed to drag to the gig . I heard the first song outside the door and thought "sounds good not your typical singer song writer". I was right, this young fella had such good lyrics that I had to question whether or not he was doing covers or not. His sound has a country feel to it but with a softening hint of Billy Joel in his voice. Alan put on an great performance, he put a lot of emotion into every song he sang and matched that with some very nice guitar work. With his stage presence and lyrical talent, he could move up in this cut throat business but a backing band may be his way through." - www.myspace.com/dublinunderground

"Sunday Roast Review"

SUNDAY ROAST - JUNE 17th

THE SHOW
ALAN TULLY
REBECCA HOWLES

Here's what happened...
The Dubs were Leinster Champions again and Thomas Reads is buzzing. First up was a newcomer, Rebecca Howles. What a voice; strength and depth in equal measures allied with a dextrous guitar style saw Rebecca go down a storm with the huge Sunday Roast crowd. We tried hard to pinpoint her influences but this girl has her own thing going, tho we think KT Tunstall better watch out!
Alan Tully is a roast regular and its not hard to see why he's always welcome. A lovely guitar style that epitomises delicacy and confidence underpins Alan's sweet vocal melodies. A ringer for Scrubs Dr 'JD' Dorian (Zach Braff) Alan swoons the audience into rapturous applause. He'll be back.
Our 'famous' roast spuds are out on the tables as the main attraction take to the stage. Its hard to say what kind of music The Show play but they've certainly got their own sound nailed. It's definitely got a swamp blues thing going on as the 3 pronged vocal attack copperfastens but there's more. Pop, rock, trad, folk, these are all elements that the boys bring to the table and its been a pleasure to see the rapid progression of their songwriting skills. They have some hit singles in their armoury so check them out before they get huge...
Thats what happened...

Bio

Alan Tully began his musical life while living in Lyon, France in 2004 at Johnny Walsh's Irish Pub. He had a residency there for six months and was advised by Adrian Walsh, the owner, to ring people up and sing into their answerphones to cheaply record himself. Instead, upon returning to Ireland Alan bought a home recording studio and set about writing his own material.

Since then he has been working on developing his sound and songcraft and become a regular feature on Dublin's live music circuit.

In over 30 performances since August 2005 Alan has played everywhere in town from Whelans, Bewleys Cafe Theatre and the Sugar Club to Crawdaddy and Eamonn Dorans. On the way he has supported acts like Matt Lunson, Tadhg Cooke, Colm Quearney the Show, Cousin Elias and the Amazing Few and has shared bills with many other up and coming acts. He has appeared on The Open Mike Show on FM104, The On the Verge Show on DSFM, Balcony TV and was reviewed in Hotpress Magazine.

Currently Alan is working on his debut EP having just compeleted demo sessions for it. It is provisionally called "Aeons EP" and is due for release later in 2007.
