Bio

It’s hard to pinpoint Alarice’s exact origins, with Alarice citing her birthplace of New Zealand, her blood roots to Singapore, and her affinity with hometown Sydney Australia as her triune concept of “home. Even the curiosity of her name, strikes interest. But her music is an altogether different question, with Alarice assuredly confident of her sound being predominately acoustic pop with fresh uplifting guitar driven tunes, and piano ballads that pull on the heartstrings. I suppose you can say her music is a bit like a breath of fresh air, music that’d you want to tune into to tune-out from the world. Her effortless vocals have been likened to that of NZ born Brooke Fraser (with her angelic-esque sounds), the sweetness of Mandy Moore and the songwriting maturity that of Singapore-born/LA based singer/songwriter Corrinne May. Alarice writes about all facets of life with a unique lyrical flair covering themes such as love, relationships and faith.

The success of Alarice’s first musical project, Songs for a Season 6 track EP is testament to the immediate connection Alarice is able to build with audiences throughout the western and eastern worlds. Produced by Australian producer Brad Evans (Human Nature, Deb Fung, Marcia Hines, Guy Sebastian), the track has been critically acclaimed, describing her songwriting as ‘polished’, and vocally “boast[ing] soothing pipes that dabble in airy meslimatics. It’s only been 6 months, since Alarice’s musical debut, but this 22 year old has already managed a SOLD OUT tour in the East, with stops including Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong having sold over 2000 copies. Following the success of her EP, Alarice has her sights on capturing Japan, Indonesia, Philippines now with a full-length album she anticipates to release late 2009. Following her dreams of recording in Nashville Tennessee, Alarice is set to deliver a groundbreaking record to her fans this coming year.
