we try and make the music that best suites both us and the crowd
our fans are what keep us motivated, and a lot of bands say that but we truly believe if it wasn't for them, there would not be 'ATW'
in our town !
Brandon - Vocals for the band had started off as the bass player with their first guitarist Tyler and drummer Brennan - instru-metal group without a name. Above Mourning was a hardcore band that last about half a year in Brantford, after they split we were thankful of bringing along our good friend Omar to play guitar as well. Now Brandon wanted to do vocals, but couldnt master both bass and screaming/singing. So Tyler's cousin Brett stood up to the plate and said ' Let's do this !' We haven't been around that long, but already have a huge fan base from Brantford To Etobicoke and across the Norfolk area. If anything our music now is great for our viewers, and the newer stuff coming up should be amazing !
What influences we have our just all music in general to sum that up
What sets us apart from other bands, is that generic style of either shred metal, or hardcorebreakdowns, or the poppie style singing voices .. or just the thrash beats that make kids want too mosh. It's not seperated in our music to just one of those various types of music. But we like to generate a style that includes ALL types.
We've even incorporated jazzy beats, two steps, breakdowns, thrash beats, and chorus lines. Harmonics are key to what make our music sound the way it does, I could agree more when people say we have a mixture of August Burns Red / Lamb of God / and Dead and Divine. - mind you the variation of those bands is FAR from each other at some points. If you saw us live, you'd know.
We are Alas the Wreckage from Brantford - and that's where the name comes to it's meaning . Brantfords look, the people in it (some) and almost our entire music scene has been demolished in the last decade. So if we were to say Brantfords a shit-town in one line. we'd say ALAS ..The Wreckage !
