Bio

Albert Khasky, born in Los Angeles, is a singer/songwriter that has more to offer than most performers of his genre. In fact, his sound is creating a brand that the world has not seen. He has been composing original music and performing since a young age and has the early moments in his life as well as the new, captured on his 9 song record entitled See Yourself.

The record makes up a soundtrack to a life that has been filled with dark and sometimes aggravating circumstances and the sence of conquering fears and missing emotions. When Taylor Martyr, long time friend and associate of Invengo Record's producer Joshua Rumer, told a tale of an amazing writer and performer named Albert and felt that the artist would benefit from the kind of artistic 'love' we could provide.

Tony Ushino, drummer and partner to Mr. Khasky, accompanied him to the studio for a brief meeting at the studio. Upon entry, Albert was greeted with a firm hand shake, a sturdy and boisterous introduction and the warning that 'this better not suck'. Albert nervously and casually sat down on the couch in the control room and began strumming a tune called Byrd. Almost immediately the producer was motionless and all ears. He requested another number and it became clear that he was in the company of one of the most amazing male voices he has ever heard. A few hooks here, a few bridges and breakdowns there became the perscription for what became the record.

After Ushino laid down the arranged tracks Solomon, brother in law to Albert, began recording the ever changing bass tracks which have rocking disco and back beat overtones. Flavor was spewing from Solomon and with every song it became evident that the gang was hitting something untouched. Jonny Polonsky, veteran performer/producer/composer was next in line with a barrage of guitar work that spoke the common language of decades of 6 string mastery. Stacking and embelishing filled the room for days as Polonsky added the sweetness to the mix.

As recording sessions were put on hold to ingest what sensory overload can do to a person, Joshua began feeling the usual disease. There could be something else in here. Like some brass. The news to Khasky and Ushino was not as well received as Rumer thought. He convinced the pair that if he could just give it a go, all will be 'most magnificent and fabulous'. The foundation of the band agreed and a call was made to Danny Levin (The Ventrouliquists, Rilo Kiley, Amanitas and Friends) and the message was...let's light this up, D.

Danny arrived with fro teased up to the heavens and, without hearing a second of the blossoming tracks, began the process of building walls of brass with Rumer behind the glass bouncing about and rejoycing to the sounds of Khasky and Ushino doing the same. Days went by and the arrangements became more intense and complex, lending strong hooks, brilliant melody and a feel that is impossible to describe with any justice.

Just when the group thought they had what they needed the disease hit yet one more time. Producer needs some percussion. So Ushino called on his friend to add the final elements to the tracks that needed to jetison the listener to a brand new dimension. As the mixes were finalized, all you could hear were seatbelts clicking. It proves that when you fill the air with the best of the best and nurture each moment of an art, the results are often times out of control, as is the case with Albert Khasky's record. From start to finish there is a will to succeed and a drive for perfection which is what this record will lend to a shallow and prefabricated industry.
