Bio

“Voladores” is Alberto & García’s most ambitious project so far. It is an audiovisual work filmed and recorded during the month of September (2015) in Asturias and released in the spring of 2016.

The Asturian Band Alberto & García, composed of Dámaso García (drums and percussion), Cristian Leiva (bass guitar), Álvaro Masó (electric guitar and backing vocals), Víctor Gil (electric guitar, dobro and lap steel) and Alberto García (acoustic guitar and vocals) has a ten-year career. After releasing the EP “Exiliados” (2010) and the album “Ley de Gravedad” (2014), produced by Paco Loco and published by Sony Music as a result of winning first prize in national new talent competition of RNE (Spanish National Radio) “La Removida”, the band presents now their new record “Voladores” (Boomerang Discos 2016). There is a part of this new album that has been funded thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign.

The essential idea of “Voladores” is taking the classic recording studio to places in which it has never been seen. On the one hand, in the documentary (DVD), we will be able to see the recording process of each track, having as a result a live music video of each song. Besides, we will discover the intricacies of the recording process and know from the inside the bands’ background as well as the cohabitation among the team members during the filming process.

The songs were all entirely recorded in ten different locations in the east of Asturias such as “La Espasa” beach (Caravia), the saw of Sueve, the famous Faro de Luces (Lastres), the village of Libardón (Colunga), an Indian house, etc.

The soundtrack (CD) of “Voladores” includes Alberto & García’s 10 new songs  (including a cover of Atahualpa Yupanqui) whose audio recording has been obtained directly from the documentary. The band’s classic sound and the influences of cumbia, disco, pop, rock or folk, are reflected in these 10 tracks.

Moonlight Audiovisual (known for the Sunday Series “Malditos Domingos”) provided the technical part (cameras, still photograph, sound and directing). The production company went to Asturias to get a 3-day experience in Libardón with the band and the rest of the team. As a result, “Voladores” came along: a new interpretation of the mere traditional album, in which we will find inside the CD-Documentary ,10 music videos and a soundtrack of 10 unreleased songs.

Alberto & García is currently presenting “Voladores” all around Spain.
