Bio

GRAND PRIZE WINNER, John Lennon Songwriting Contest 2005, best Latin song " La Ventana"

THIRD PLACE AWARD, Billboard Song Contest 1995, "Don Dinero"

I started when I was 13 yrs. old...and wrote my first song. I was recorded as a songwriter for the first time at 19 yrs. old having success with LOS PASTELES VERDES for whom I wrote songs on four albums. I traveled a lot with them, while meeting important people. I formed a goup called YGriega and I signed with INFOPESA Records, in Peru, and recorded 4 singles. I also produced, with Carlos Alvarado, a peruvian musician, an album for a teen group: DURO Y BLANDO "A toda musica".
I came to USA in 1985 and wrote 10 songs for a youth program called YES (Youth Encounter Spirit) which were the cornerstones of the program that was introduced to Latin America with success within the catholic spiritual youth movement.
I decided to go to Mexico, got married and had a long lapse of disconnection with the music bussiness, but was seriously involved in christian music by directing youth choirs and performing at diferent events. In 2002, Pandora, a famous mexican group included two songs that were written with Carlos Alvarado in their musical production named ANTOLOGIA. During this time I focused on the needs of my family and recorded christian music for a while.
In 2005-2006 I got the Lennon Award for the best Latin song in the John Lennon Song Writing contest. Now I am returning and placing my focus into mainstream music this time with more experience of life and with stronger hopes in my new material.
