"Albert Ross and the Otters"

These sea creatures are the UK's answer to the largely underrated Richard Swift: tinkling piano, lulling female backgrounds, call-and-response choruses, whistling for God's sake..

You'll be cheerful all day. Believe dat...

Bio

Albert Ross and the Otters began over tea and biscuits and a desire to put music first.
Unlike many of the bands they were involved with previously as individuals, they were happy to turn their backs on the image obsessed, nme quoting gaggle of usual suspects and decided instead to concentrate their efforts exclusively on writing and recording great songs.
That said, the band have only just started out and are suddenly finding that what they're creating is striking a chord within everyone that hears it.
The band are currently up in The Attic Studios, Leeds, with the legendary producer Richard Green (former Ultrasound) working on what is to become their debut album, "Neither Work nor Leisure".

Song by song they are going from strength to strength and with each new day striding towards what will surely be the most exciting record of 2008.

Influences are varied between members but at the moment you can find Amadou et Miriam, Nick Drake, John Martin, Iron and Wine, Tim Hardin, Nick Cave and many more on the Otters stereo.

With over thirty fantastic songs to choose from the whittling down of the debut album was no easy task but the end is in sight and the band are delighted with the results so far.

Keep up to date with new songs as they are uploaded into cyber space and try and catch this unique band live in the near future.
