Feeling a bit camera shy

AlbinoVega are a rock band. John Kathman plays the guitar and does the vocals, Evan Connair plays the drumkit, and Lee Cranford plays bass guitar. The band was formed in 2002 under the name Being The Shadow and contained completely different members. The band have since seen many faces and adopted many different music styles.

Their early work was a little too new wave for most tastes, but when "Who Owns It" came out in 2005, their fans felt that they really came into their own, comercially and artistically. The whole album had a more clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consomate professionalism, that really gives the songs a big boost.

They've been compared to radiohead and nirvana, but John's lyrics have a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. The band recently released their new EP, "For The Gusto", their most accomplished Collection of songs to date, one being their undisputed masterpiece, "Down/Out". The song is so catchy, most people probably dont listen to the lyrics, but they should, because they aren't just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of friends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
