Ann Louise Cavanaugh

Ann Cavanaugh is a lyricist and singer, born in Toronto, Canada and now based in LA. "I've been writing for over 20 years, but lyrics only recently. I've been on an extraordinary personal journey the past few years, as I was 'reborn in music.' It's a long story, but in a nutshell: Mary J. Blige got me off the couch, Michael Jackson got me out the door, and Mavis Staples got me back on stage. I can not measure what I owe those three fabulous musicians. I gave up a lot (my house, my friends, my business) to come to LA last year, and I'm so happy I did. When I came back to music, I rediscovered the joy that dedicating yourself to a passion can bring. I've had a chance to take courses and workshops at Berklee and be further inspired by some true pro's: Livingston Taylor, Joey Blake, Darcel Wilson to name only a talented few of many kind, encouraging teachers. I'm currently singing gospel music with 2 groups in Pasadena, writing & looking for a songwriting partner, taking music biz courses and loving life. I could not be more blessed!
