Bio

Amid constant noise, the fans cheering and people clapping to the beat, Alex Tye knew he had arrived. On stage, in front of countless fans of music. Alex was the king of his domain, the ruler of all he could see.
Not in a literal sense of course, but figuratively speaking, for he had long master his words and the feeling which was invoked when he stepped in front of his audience was reminiscent of a king regaining his thrown. Damn, it feels good to be home. But to understand Alex Tye is now, you have to understand where he's been. At the tender age of six, under the moniker "Al Dilla", Alex wrote his first rap.
It was that day, some fourteen odd years ago, that Al Dilla was conceived over a D Nice beat. The spark, the connection, it was unmistakable. The sheer force of two tectonic plates moving under one's feet is analogous to this fateful day. From then on, Al Dilla has been a stand out in the freestyle/battle rap scene. As he was ripping through ciphers from the West of the East side of Aurora, IL. He joined forces with AILite Entertainment in 2007 and has continued to help build the label into a independent powerhouse. Over fourteen years have past, the world has changed drastically.
Through all this change Al Dilla still stands, microphone in hand, ready to take on any challenge the world has to offer. Just as a Roman soldier made his shield and sword part of him, Al Dilla has fused himself with the pad and pen.
With influences ranging from LL Cool J and Emimen to Incubus and Atmosphere a definition of Alex's rapping style is truly impossible. You see, definitions come with time; they take research for a truly concise set of words that describe a single thing. Al Dilla, just like his style, is an undiscovered gem, which must be unscathed by the ears of the world before his name, or style for that matter, can be put into Webster's Dictionary.
