Hello my friends.
My name is Alec Roeser, and I am 20 years of age. The very first time I had contact with a piano truly changed my life. Definitely a story worth sharing. I was 8 years old riding in a car on the way to Asheville, NC. with my father. The excessive shaking and instability of traveling on a narrow mountainous road got to me and I needed something to distract my mind away from it. So I asked Dad if he would put some music on. The first few songs were "Beach Boy" hits, but one in particular spoke to me... "God Only Knows" withheld so much meaning and left an imprint in my soul.. It changed me and I no longer wanted to travel down an ordinary path.. I wanted to learn this song, and I wanted to play it flawlessly on piano. All that I could possibly think of was how to write music, how to play the piano, and how in the hell I would convince my father to return home earlier so that I could learn the song... Well, much to my dismay, he didn't bend. So, after a few days had passed, we returned home and along came the inspiration. My father taught me "God Only Knows" in a matter of hours, and since then I have progressed even more than I had anticipated. I have been performing live for 9 years so far and have quite a few feats on my repertoire. I have opened up for pop sensation "Kasim Sulton", the Bassist for "Celin Dion", "Meat Loaf", "Hall and Oates", and "Todd Rundgren". I played the "Frontera Mex-Mex Grill circuit for 2 and a half years. I have performed at various venues including "The Variety Playhouse", "Smiths Old Bar", "The Loft" at Center Stage in Atlanta, etc. I am currently preparing for a couple of shows lined up for the next month (which does not entail that I am not free to work) including thus: I will be opening for "Todd Rundgren" in Memphis, Tennessee on April 21, 2010, and I will be opening up for "The Fixx".
