Bio
Alejandro Valdivia is a musician of Cuban and Costarrican origins who resides in the USA. He has been a founding member of bands that dabbled on experimental and progressive music such as A Limine, Triptico and Los Hijos de Ismael with which he released the album En Pie De Paz.
In 2010, Alejandro moved to Atlanta in pursuit of a singer/songwriter project. In 2011 he began working with Manuel Sosa and Joel Brene in what would later become Alejandro & The Third. The trio is currently working on a full length album.
Manuel Sosa hails from Meneses, a small town in central Cuba. He is a published poet and essayist, has a degree in Education and is currently employed as a social worker, but playing in a band has always been his first choice. He played rock, country and blues back home (2nd Floor Dept, Rembrandt) and traditional Cuban music (Cafe Mezclao) in Atlanta -always sailing against the wind- and has found in Alejandro & The Third the ideal mix. He plays bass, guitar, harmonica and does the occasional holler.
Joel is a native of Matanzas, Cuba. He played for ten years (1991-2001) with the musical group Kairos, recording eleven albums and performing also in Denmark, Germany, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Switzerland and USA. He received his training in percussion from El Niño (from La Marina Section of Matanzas). Joel settled in the States in 2001. He plays congas and does other assorted percussion and vocals. He performed with “Cafe Mezclao” in Atlanta (2005-2011) from which resulted the album “Aqui en La Yuma”. Joel now works in his own recording studio “Da Capo Music”.
