Aleksandra Denda

Aleksandra  is Serbian-born and raised, now Boston based, eclectic vocalist and songstress, scholarship recipient and recent graduate from prestigious Berklee College of Music. 

Her sound refuses to be labeled, but allows to be described as  a soul-appetizing smoothie of meaningful lyrics, luscious vocals and spicy harmonies. 

Ranging from soul, jazz, gospel to the sounds of flamenco, Africa, India and music of the mountainous Balkans, she's been part of many, mainly multicultural projects and groups. 

As a lead vocalist, backup singer or ensemble member, she's shared stage with rare names of Serbian musical encyclopedia of quality, as well as with world acclaimed musicians -Patrice Rushen, Bilal, Jose Merce, Joey Blake. 

She's performed in all the prestigious halls in her home country, as well as around Europe, had a chance to step on the stages of  many renown clubs and performance venues on the East Coast including- Ryles and Wally's Jazz Clubs, Boston Music Awards, The Hatch Shell, Berklee Performance Center, Salem Jazz and Soul Festival, Shapeshifter Lab, Cotton Club; 

Her music education started with studying classical piano, continuing to jazz singing and then got paused while studying media management. Berklee had been the biggest dream, so huge that for many years it seemed more distant than the furthest galaxy. It was such a long, turbulent, crazy and intense journey that after many years of dreaming, believing, overcoming many fears, doubts and evident obstacles that would eventually lead her to Boston. It was one of those situations when you want something so badly and wholeheartedly that the whole universe conspires in helping you achieve it. 

Swimming in many sonic oceans has elevated Aleksandra's musicianship and kindled the development of her own artistry and musical expression. 

Since in Boston, she's become more than a performer as her inner songwriter had awakened. Teamed up with wildly innovative producer, Berklee classmate, Giosue Greco, her music started evolving within a collaborative this project that is an honest and introspective reflection of her perspective of life, love and art.

Aleksandra performs her original songs along with a dynamic 8 piece band as well as with her more gentle, acoustic quartet.
