Alethea Mills

Singing and performing since childhood like many singers, Alethea Mills began her life with music in church. "It was always something that came naturally. Music was my way of escaping the reality of my life", says Alethea as she recollects on her childhood. Although, many can attest to her having advanced vocal abilities at an early age, Alethea wasn't fully aware of her wonderful gift until the closing of her high school years. After receiving the leading role in her high school musical production of Dreamgirls, she began to understand the impact of her capability to inspire others through her voice. Almost 10 years later, videos of her high school performance are still floating around. Her influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Shawn Colvin, India Arie, and John Lennon just to name a few.
During her 11th grade year, she was introduced to the legendary songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne. Initially, she was just a choir member accompanying Browne with an occasional lead. Alethea began her career as a professional singer in 2001, while completing her last year in high school. In college, she continued singing with Browne upon his request. Alethea has appeared with Browne on several stages around the United States. When given the opportunity to sing with him on his album in 2004, "The Naked Ride Home", Alethea was honored and extremely thrilled. After going on to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design in 2006, Alethea continued her working relationship with Browne and was invited to record his most recent album in 2008, "Time the Conqueror". As if recording another album with Browne wasn't enough, she then was invited to tour the world with Browne as a band member. Starting in September of 2008, the "Time the Conqueror" tour began in the United States and made it's way through Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, and so many other places. Trying to keep up with show reviews became a little overwhelming for Alethea, but they helped confirm she was in the right place. Upon returning from the tour in September of 2009, she has begun to take her rightful place as a solo performer. The stage has always welcomed her with open arms and now she's ready to make her mark upon the world.
