Alex Jay

John Alexander Johnson III, a.k.a Alex Jay, was born and raised on the west-side of Baltimore, Maryland. Like many artists, Alex began singing in the church choir as a young child; It wasn’t until the age of fifteen that Alex decided to pursue his career professionally, making strides to be a national recording artist.

Alex has performed twice on 106&Park and tried out for the popular t.v. show “X factor,” where he was said to be too professional, already having an excessive amount of exposure to be in an amateur competition. Alex made it through boot camp and even received a standing ovation from the crowd, causing Brittney Spears to cry after his performance. 

Now at age 21, he is ready to give his fans an experience like no other; Alex is more than just an artist, he is a positive role model for young men trying to conquer obstacles to follow their dreams. Inspired by legends such as Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, he looks to leave a legacy in this business that people will want to follow and remember! In the age where social media is ever present,  Alex has a tremendous fan base on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook; collectively over 250k followers. With this platform Alex is ready to expand as he reemerges with new content, a fresh look, and the confidence needed to be the new face of the pop and r&b.
