Bio
Alex Meaney (acoustic guitar, lead-vocals, harmonica) is a Londoner with Scottish & Irish parentage, recently returned to the UK after having lived in Asia since 2008.
Having for a number of years performed solo and duo gigs in London, he decided to realise the dream and establish a band both when in Asia and now in the UK - as well as still playing his hand as a solo singer-songwriter.
Oft-praised by fellow musicians and concertgoers for his stage presence and the sweet clarity of his baritone, Alex covers a wide spectrum of artists (as well as his own songs): Traditional Irish/Americana/English Folk (e.g. The Pogues, old folk songs), Classic Rock/Folk-Rock/Folk/Country/Bluegrass (e.g. Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Band, Neil Young, CSNY, Leonard Cohen, Tom Petty, Travelling Wilburys, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Steely Dan, The Eagles, Procul Harum, Tracy Chapman, Crowded House, Toby Keith, etc) and more recent Modern Rock/Folk-Rock such as Ryan Adams, Wilco, Turin Brakes, The Zutons, Mumford & Sons, etc.
